Churches & ministries

Every volunteer gets in. Nobody keeps a key.

Members and volunteers scan a QR code at the door, verify their phone, and get the code — during service hours and the times you set. No keys to collect back when someone steps down, and a record of who came in.

Sound familiar?

Twenty keys out, and nobody's sure who has them.

  • Keys went out to volunteers years ago, and some left the church with them.
  • The side-door code is taped inside a cupboard and hasn't changed since it was installed.
  • Someone has to unlock for choir practice, youth group and the food pantry.
  • After a break-in, nobody could say who had been in the building that week.

How it works

Live in one sitting.

01

Print the QR sign

Put it up at the door. No app, no hardware to start.

02

A volunteer scans

Phone camera, any phone. Nothing to install.

03

Phone verified

A text code the first time — then remembered for 90 days, one tap.

04

Door opens

They get the keypad code, or a smart lock opens itself.

Made for churches

The building opens for the people serving in it.

Service and ministry hours

Give each door its own windows — Sunday services, midweek groups, pantry mornings. Outside them the code isn't handed out, and you hear about attempts.

Weddings and funerals

An event list opens the doors for the families, caterers and florists on it, for that day only.

Growth

Ask before letting in

Set the office door to ask first: each scan sends a request to the pastor's or office manager's phone, and the visitor waits on the page for the answer.

Growth

Staff hours

The custodian and part-time staff clock in by scanning the same QR. Hours per person and a CSV for payroll.

Growth

Who was in the building

Every entry and refusal at every door, with the last 4 digits of the phone that verified. Full history and export on Growth.

Questions churches ask

Does it work with the keypad we already have?

Yes. QR Gate hands your keypad code to verified people — nothing to install at the door. Keys and the keypad keep working as before.

Do people need an app or an account?

No. They scan with the phone camera and verify their number with a text code once. The phone is remembered for 90 days.

Can the office and the sanctuary have different hours?

Yes. Every door gets its own QR code, its own code and its own hours.

What do you keep about the people who come in?

Only a scrambled form of the phone number and its last 4 digits — never the full number, unless you add someone to your member list yourself.

We have a smart lock already. Can it open by itself?

Often, yes — Yale, Schlage, Kwikset, August and more connect on Pro ($7 per door per month). Each person then gets their own code that expires on its own.

What does it cost?

Free for one door and up to 25 members. Growth ($29/month) adds up to 10 doors, unlimited members, event lists, approvals and the staff clock.
