One QR code from the guest's booking lets them in at any hour, switches on their pedestal, and switches it off when the paid stay ends. No staff at the gate, no shared code, no app — and off-the-shelf parts your own electrician can install.
Sound familiar?
How it will work
In the booking system you already use. Nothing changes for you.
In their confirmation email — the whole credential. No app, no account.
The gate opens, their site's power comes on, the site light flashes.
After checkout and a grace period, power goes off and the QR stops working.
What we're building
First
A QR from the booking opens the gate and amenity doors — pool, showers, laundry — from check-in to checkout. Every scan recorded against the booking.
Then
The same QR turns on the guest's pedestal at their first scan (or at check-in time) and off when the paid stay ends. Renewals move the gate and the power together.
Later
Plate recognition at the gate with the QR as backup, power use per site for billing, an alert when a site still draws power after checkout, one-tap extend.
The kit
A Shelly relay on your gate operator's open input (LiftMaster, Viking, DoorKing and others), a weatherproof QR plate, and a Wi-Fi extender if the gate is out of range.
A Shelly Pro relay driving a 2-pole contactor that does the 30 A / 50 A switching. Optional: a meter for power use per site, a light that flashes on arrival.
Your own licensed electrician. We sell the control, never line-voltage work — the kit's instructions say so, part by part.
Switching pedestal power is line-voltage electrical work. QR Gate provides the control signal; anything on the pedestal is installed by a licensed electrician.
Questions park owners ask
No. The QR in their confirmation email is the whole credential. They scan it at the gate with the phone camera, and get a text with their site number and the Wi-Fi after the first scan.
Any that sends a confirmation email: you forward bookings to an address we give you, and we read the guest, site and dates. Direct connections (Campspot, Newbook, RMS and others) come next, in the order our pilot parks use them.
Power never goes off the moment a stay ends. There's a grace period (2 hours unless you change it), a warning text before it, and a “just tell me” mode that alerts you instead of switching anything.
Maybe not. QR Gate can already answer a telephone-entry call box for verified guests and play the tone that opens the gate — no hardware at the gate.
Yes — same thing with a slip instead of a site and a shore-power pedestal instead of an RV pedestal.
One flat monthly price per park — never per lock, per door or per site — and the kit near cost. Pilot parks help us set it.
We're starting with a handful of parks and marinas — 4 to 40 sites is the sweet spot. Tell us about yours: how many sites, which booking system, and what the gate is today.
